GrapheneOS isn't high-level wizardry. It's for everyone. If you're worried you won't be able to install GOS, or that you'll make the device less secure if you don't understand what you're doing, you shouldn't be. Stock Android is fundamentally broken by design. Google aggressively infiltrates your phone right out of the box. GrapheneOS fixes that by stripping Google of its privileged system access. Even if you do something reckless like give an app full Network, Sensor, and Storage permissions, you've just recreated the baseline default behavior of a normal Android phone. But even then, those apps are still trapped inside a hardened memory allocator (hardened_malloc) and OS-level exploit mitigations that stock Android simply doesn't have. Even a poorly configured GrapheneOS setup is a massive win for privacy and security.
